Description
Mrs. D.M. Alexander was irate. Like so many others, her family was lured to Prince Edward Island during the summer of 1971 by promises of idyllic scenery, family-oriented attractions and friendly locals. Departing from their Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, home on 17 August, the family’s vacation, purportedly their first in ten years, would end in bitter disappointment. “This vacation, I must say,” she noted in a letter to Premier Alex Campbell, “has left a very bad taste for Prince Edward Island as far as this family is concerned.”
