Description
Regular readers of this magazine will
recall "Drama at Abells Cape" by Adele
Townshend in No. Six. Mrs. Townshend
there mentions Charles P. Flockton, the
American actor who was one of the first
members of the summer colony of actors
and writers that appeared around Fortune
Bay until sometime in the 1950s.
Mrs. Townshend also referred to the
memoir that follows, written by American
actor Reginald Carrington Short
(who used his first two names as a stage
name). Drawn from the New York and
Boston theatrical orbit to Flockton's Island
retreat, Short and his wife and their
friends the Harry Warwicks (who owned
a cottage) were regular summer visitors
for many years.
