It has been many times pointedout that of the many men whom wehave sent to the great war, there isnot a single company or battery...which represents the Province, andto whom we entrust our honour.The Guardian, 3 }uly; 1915Thousands of Islanders - atleast 10,000 and probablymany more - fought in Canada'swars between 1900 and 1953.Because so many joined up inother provinces, there probablywasn't a military unit in the countrythat didn't boast at least oneIslander in its ranks.
