Description
The recent quickening of interest in
the Scottish Gaelic component of the
Canadian mosaic has had significant
antecedents in many parts of this
country. Almost a century before the
advent of the tape-recorder and government
grants, far-seeing, disinterested
scholars were at work here, recovering
and transcribing the ancestral lore of our
Highland immigrants, the songs and the
sagas of their fathers and a fair number
of their own as well.
