George Brace (March 27 1809 – March 2 1887) Born in St. John’s Newfoundland, Brace immigrated to PEI in 1832. He lived and died in Charlottetown and was a shoemaker who operated a shop on Sidney Street near Pownal Street. He married Hannah Mann, an Islander, on March 17, 1842 and they would go on to have 2 daughters (Mary, Sarah) and 5 boys (Richard, William, James, John and Walter).
